Beata Łabuz-Roszak, MD, PhD
Habilitated doctor of medical sciences, specialist in neurology, in the course of specialization in medical rehabilitation, long-term academic teacher at the Medical University of Silesia (in 1999-2016, initially an assistant, then an assistant professor at the Department of Neurology of the Faculty of Medicine with the Department of Dentistry in Zabrze, since 2016 – assistant professor at the Chair and Department of Basic Medical Sciences of the Public Health Faculty in Bytom), also a senior assistant at the Department of Neurological Rehabilitation of the Upper Silesian Rehabilitation Center “Repty” in Tarnowskie Góry. In 2003, she completed an internship at the Neurology Clinic of the University Hospital in Düsseldorf (Germany).
Author and co-author of 83 full-text publications in peer-reviewed Polish and foreign journals, 1 monograph and 77 conference reports at national and international conferences. Manager of numerous research projects carried out as part of the own and statutory work of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, as well as a member of the research team of the nationwide multi-center research project “Medical, psychological, sociological and economic aspects of aging in Poland – PolSenior”.
Member of the Board of the Silesian Branch of the Polish Neurological Society, also the President of the Silesian Branch of the Polish Society of Clinical Neurophysiology. She is also the Dean’s Plenipotentiary for Education Quality at the Public Health Department of the Silesian Medical University (SUM) and a member of the SUM Internal Education Quality Committee.
The basic areas of scientific activity include the following issues: epidemiology of vascular diseases of the brain, problems of neuro and psychogeriatrics, autonomic dysfunction in diseases of the nervous system, problems of resistance to drugs used in the prevention of stroke, and mental disorders and quality of life in patients with nervous system diseases.
